PATIENTS OF JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY CELEBRATED
WORLD OSTEOARTHRITIS DAY  - PERFORMED YOGA
AND WALKED ON THE RAMP.

At the age of 81 when most of the people are barely active,Mr.Srinivas
performed yoga after undergoing a major joint replacement surgery.
Indeed, it was a fitting tribute to the world Osteoarthritis Day.

Patients who underwent Joint Replacement Surgery were invited
to walk on the Ramp to inspire others who are also suffering
Osteoarthritis but not ready to undergo the surgery for the fear of
post surgery complications,if any.

Dr.P.Chandrasekhar,Head of the Department,Sakra Institute
of Bone and Joints,Sakra World Hospital  was felicitated at the event.
He has earned  recognition for conducting various types of
complex joint surgeries that included joint preservation and replacement surgeries.
"We strongly intend to create more awareness about
Rheumatic & Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMD"s) and its available treatment processes" says Dr.Chandrasekhar.
Further he says that there is a
feeling that arthritis affects those above 60 OR only men,but it is not
so.He gave few tips for preventing arthritis with little lifestyle changes.
They are; 1.Exercise routinely to maintain flexibility of bones.2.Avoid
smoking as it can lead to develop rheumatic arthritis.3.Consume Low
fat diet.4.Increase consumption of whole grains, fruits & vegetables.
5.Consume more of vitamin C if one is an arthritis patient.
