INDIA -USA -DIPLOMATIC ROW.

United States of America  should be aware that India is a vibrant democracy
with Free and Enlightened media and it is not a banana republic. It is not the
first instance where USA has treated our diplomats badly but also our former
President Dr.Abdul Kalam was detained. This cannot go on and the latest
act of arresting Dr.Devyani Khobargade  should be an eye opener for the
government of India. This act of USA is violation of Vienna convention.
This is because of our tolerance and the way we treat and value our
relationship with USA which is not being reciprocated by them. The moot
question is why only our diplomat was treated like this?. Is it not time that
we also act the way USA acts?.We are a powerful country of 1.2 billion people
and we should also behave like one.The government of India should also look
into the charges that are levelled against our diplomat in New York and take
corrective action, if needed, so that such things donot repeat.

AAM AADMI PARTY (AAP) SHOULD NOT FORM GOVERNMENT IN DELHI.

AAM AADMI PARTY led by Mr.Arvind Kejriwal should not yield to temptation
and form the government with the support of Congress Party. They have no
mandate to form the government . The AAP has just opened the account and
they must first consolidate and should not yield to any temptation from Congress
party to form the government with their support. What will be the fate of AAP
when the Congress Party withdraws support on some issue?. The only alternative
is for the BJP (which is the single largest party) to form the government with the
support of AAP with an agreed Common Minimum Programme. They together
consist of 85% of the seats in the assembly.

BITCOINS - A VIRTUAL CURRENCY?

may be due to large pool  techie population.
According to Forbes, India could be the next
booming market for Bitcoins.

DON'T ALLOW CORPORATES TO START BANKS.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee .on Finance has recommended that
Corporate Houses should not be given Bank Licenses by Reserve Bank Of India .
Further, as on 30.03 2013,only 17% of the total branches of Private sector banks
was in rural areas.Hence,it is a big question whether the private sector banks will
achieve the national objectives of financial inclusion, priority sector lending
etc. In this scenario, it will not be prudent for RBI to consider issuing bank
 licenses to Corporate Houses.

We have already written about this on 19th january,2013,which we are
 reiterating.

                                                            INCLUSIVE GROWTH OR DIVISIVE GROWTH.

Every day we hear the ministers, political leaders and the media talk about inclusive
growth.Inclusive growth is, we all grow together with equal oppurtunities to all and
creating an eco system for the talents to bloom & prosper and no one in the society
Is either suppressed or oppressed. The United states of America is one such
example of a country which has the eco system for equal oppurtunity. This is the
 essence of true democracy.

Now, let us ponder whether  we,as a country as an eco system for equal
oppurtunity .The answer is -NO. India is a free country for the last 66 years. It is
true we have grown in all fields. But is it sufficient to sit and relax as a country
of 1.2 billion people and 1.2 billion aspirations. Our society is fragmented and there
is mistrust between and amongst the members of Indian society.Hence, what
needs to be done to integrate and to set common goals for the development of the
country as a whole,This should be the agenda for all the political parties, thought
leaders and the media for  the General elections to be held in 2014.Let us not
divide the country for the sake of Vote banks.Let us learn from the history of the
country. We were invaded by Muslims ,by Greeks, the French, the Portuguese and
finally the British who ruled our country for more than a century.

    RBI-Foreign Bank's Policy.

Mr.Raghuram G Rajan,RBI Governor said, RBI will soon come out with  a new
policy  for entry of  foreign banks that may even allow them to take over small
Indian banks. This move is not a good move as we are opening a big financial
market to foreign banks. As we know foreign banks are interested in only retail
credit and credit cards. They may not be willing to  operate in remote rural
areas like State bank of India and public sector banks. If at all RBI wants to
open up & allow new foreign banks into the country, they may stipulate the
same conditions as they have set for new banks entry whose applications are
still pending with RBI.Foreign banks with their large capital base may swallow
few small banks which are prone and whose capital base is small.Once they take
over such small banks, they may close unviable branches and would like to operate
only in Tier  I and Tier II cities as they are interested only in their bottomline.

EDITORIAL
                                                                   RAHUL'S COMMENT ON ORDINANCE.

I have observed Mr.Rahul Gandhi as a sober person who normally does not get
provoked But I was shocked to see him in the Press conference using strong words
like 'nonsense'and saying that the ordinance should be torn. The ordinance is
approved in the cabinet sent to the President for signature and two senior
ministers in the cabinet has gone to the President to convince him about the purpose of the ordinance. At this juncture, calling the ordinance as nonsense does
not make  sense.Afterall, he is the senior functionary of the Congress Party and his views are respected not only within the Congress party but also in the government.

He should have voiced his opinion in the congress party's forum which  would have
stopped the ordinance.Ofcourse, the ordinance is flawed and the public sentiment
is against such Ordinance.

Even his father, late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was also a sober person and ever smiling. He
too once got irritated and said in a Press conference to a question of a journalist
that 'you will be discussing with  new foreign secretary'.By this statement,he
almost sacked the senior foreign service bureaucrat Mr.A.P.Venkateshwaran,who
was the Foreign Secretary then. This ended the distinguished career of Mr.A.P.Venkateshwaran.

  EDITORIAL.
                                                                      INDIAN SECULARISM.

Indian secularism should be a model to the world. We as Indians are secular in our
thought  & action. India never attacked any country for any reason, though it was
attacked  for centuries. India has seen the invasion of Moghuls,Greek,Portuguese,
French,Dutch & the British. Many foreigners ruled this country for centuries and
even some looted and plundered this country of its wealth. India called as Bharath
earlier was following the Sanatana Dharma, a mantra  for harmonious living. India
is a great country with rich culture & traditions which attracted many towards
it.India has nurtured many religions, and also given birth to many religions.Hence,
nobody need to be worried whether India will become a communal country. India
can never become a country which hates any religion. My appeal to politicians of
every hue and colour not to talk of religion or talk of majority or minority in their
election speeches.Let us talk of development, Industrial growth, infrastructure
growth, employment to all and above all peace.

EDITORIAL.

                                              WITHDRAW THE ORDINANCE.

The government's move to promulgate an ordinance to counter supreme
Court's judgement which disqualifies the lawmakers convicted of criminal
offence punishable with jail term of over  two years is not the right move. To
quote Mr.Milind Deora ,young minister "this ordinance will endanger the
already eroding public faith in democracy'.

The government should always  be seen to be doing the correct thing but this
ordinance will prove otherwise.

                                                PRIME MINISTERIAL CANDIDATES
                                                         OF CONGRESS & BJP.

There is a big churning going on in BJP about the Prime  Ministerial candidacy
of Narendra Modi. Why there should be a hurry in declaring the Prime Ministerial
candidate of any party when the elections are 9 months away. Let us take the case
of Congress, the PM has said that he is prepared to work under Rahul Gandhi, the
Home Minister  says that Rahul Gandhi is the PM candidate  & few other senior
members in the Congress have also echoed the same...Then what is holding the Congress Party in announcing their PM candidate?.As one who has observed the functioning of the Congress party for the last 45 years,  one can safely assume that they are waiting for BJP to announce their PM candidate.

The elections to 2014 should be only on Good Governance,Inflation,Price
rise, corruption institutional misuse and clear vision of future. Between Rahul
Gandhi and Narendra Modi, the latter  scores few extra points like  experience, ,
vision, from the grass roots, not from  political family  and above all proven  performance.
Whereas Rahul Gandhi is yet to prove himself. On several occassions, the PM has
asked him to join the cabinet but he has refused. He is yet to get the nuances of
governing the country, which means handling the domestic problems,Finance, Economy,Diplomacy, and various other pressing problems facing the country.
The whole Congress party will be looking upon him to provide the leadership
when he is appointed as PM. Will he deliver?.

                                                                OIL IMPORT BILL

United States of America is reported to be seriously considering taking action
against Syria for their alleged use of chemical weapons. This may have a great
impact on the price of oil. There are speculations that the oil price may go upto
$150.This is the time for the government of India to seriously think of investing
in exploration of oil and gas. As our import bill for the oil import is soaring,
the need of the hour is to find new alternate energy sources. As we have a huge
reserves of coal, methanol can be produced even from coal,it can be one such
alternative.Next is the use of Ethanol  as we are also a large sugarcane
producing country. As a national policy,Brazil blends oil with sugarcane
based alcohol i.e ethanol fuel blend between 20-25%(ethanol) based on
sugarcane harvest. According to some reports 80% of the cars in Brazil can
run on blended fuel making the country as the second largest producer of
ethanol. India can also seriously think of oil import from Brazil instead of
totally depending on the countries in the Middle East.

CHINA'S AGGRESSIVE POSTURE.

There are reports that China has occupied 640 Sq. Kms of Indian territory.
It is based on a report submitted by Mr.Shyam Charan of National Security
Advisory Board who recently visited  the forward areas on the advise of our
Prime Minister. But still, the government does not seem to be taking the issue
seriously and they are still under the impression that China will not attack
India. This government should draw some lessons from 1962 war.The then
Prime Minister Pandit Nehru and the then defence Minister Mr.V.K.Krishna
Menon strongly believed in Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai and Panch Sheel but
Chinese had different plans.

 Some Media reports:
As per the diary of Mr.G.Parthasarathy,(GP),India's ambassador to China in
1958,Mr.Nehru,the then Prime Minister did not trust China despite the Panch
Sheel agreement. Also the entries quote Mr.Nehru saying to Mr.GP "they have
deliberately chosen to be anti India and therefore to be extremely vigilant about
all Chinese intentions,Policies and actions  towards us".

COAL SCAM-MISSING FILES

The Prime Minister's reply on the captioned subject is not convincing to
the people of India.Earlier the PM said that he takes full responssibility and
today he says he is not the custodian of files. The PM is an honourable man,
an eminent economist  and a man with impeccable integrity. The people of
India expect the Prime Minister to be more articulate and  reply to the
points raised by the opposition. Afterall, the Members of parliament in the
opposition also represent the people of this country as the ruling party. If
the opposition parties does not force or get a convincing reply from the PM,
who is the head of the government, the people will not forgive them.

The fact is that the case is monitored by the  Supreme court, and the CBI is
not able to file or proceed without the relevant files which are missing. The
Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Mr.Arun Jaitley says that the files do not
disappear, but made to disappear. The PM has not replied to this charge.

                                                              RATION PETROL

Mr.Veerappa Moily's suggestion to close petrol pumps between 08 in the night to
next day morning 08 is not practicable. It will cause more problems for the
people as there will be huge crowds at the petrol pumps in the evening and
also next day morning. People who are going to work in the morning will
be put to lot of hardship. As rupee has weakened and the oil import is causing
a drain on our foreign exchange reserves, it will be better,if the petrol is
rationed to reduce the petrol consumption. If anybody wants more petrol, they
have to shell out at commercial rates which should be fixed by the oil companies.
we wish the government thinks on these lines instead of closing petrol pumps
in the night.

THERE IS NO RELIGION SUCH AS HINDU RELIGION
                                                                                        - Says Digvijaya Singh

He is right. It is only Sanatana Dharma.Nowhere in any of our Upanishads,Vedas
or in any of our Holy scriptures, there is any mention of Hindu religion.Sanatana
Dharma is a way of life and one who practices, can never be communal.

Hence Sanatana is eternal and Dharma is harmonious way of living with
righteousness,compassion and truth.

EDITORIAL.

                                  RUPEE WEAKENING -GOVERNMENT CLUELESS.

Even Today, the rupee has breached Rs.68/- against the dollar. The government is
busy in doing some tinkering here and there to show to the people of India that
they are serious in strengthening the rupee. The irony is that our country has the
best of the brains in Economics (our PM ),the experienced Finance Minister  and
the Deputy Chairman of Planning commission,Dr.Montek Singh Ahluwalia, still
they are not able to stop the weakening of the rupee.Rupee is at weakest level ever
and there seems to be no signals of rupee strengthening in the near future.

The rupee has lost 20% of its value this year and rated as one of the worst
performing currencies. Even some Latin American Currencies have lost against the
dollar. There is an inherent fear of  the widening  current account deficit.A jump in
oil prices in the wake of the fears about military action against Syria by US and and
its allies have complicated the situation.India imports 80% of its oil requirements
and any increase in oil prices will fuel inflation and widen the current account deficit.
The uncontrolled gold imports earlier was also a factor in increasing the current
account deficit. However, now the government has increased  duty on import of gold which should have been done earlier.

                                                    HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?.

India is a rich country but the wealth of the country is in the hands of few
who are not that charitable enough as few of the people whose names are
given below who shares their majority of wealth with the needy and who needs
help.

Warren Buffet: He said in his letter to the Gates Foundation,"I want to give
my kids just enough so that they may feel that they could do anything, but not

so much that they would feel like doing nothing".He has pledged to give away 99% of his   wealth. He has promised to give 83% of his wealth to the Gates foundation.

Famous Actor,Jackie Chan, about leaving his wealth to his son Jaycee.
"If he is capable he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will
just be wasting my money".

Bill Gates: " I knew I didn't think it was a good idea to give money to my
kids. That wouldn't be good either for my kids or society".-The Sun in 2010.

E-Bay Founder,Pierre Omidyar : Donates his majority of money to those
less fortunate, instead of to his three children'.-Forbes magazine.

We as Indians have got few lessons to learn from these eminent people
to make our Indian society, irrespective of caste, colour, & Language to
be more happy and equitable.

FOOD SECURITY BILL- POLITICAL GAME CHANGER,BUT FLAWED.

Food Security Bill, a pet project of Congress party may be a game changer
which may win votes, but may not achieve the goals intended.Because, the
scheme is not well planned, adequate funds not provided and may clash with
many schemes every state already has.The country NEEDS food security to feed
the billion people of which majority are poor. But where is the procurement
policy, where to store the food grains without being spoilt, what about the
distribution network and above all where is the money as there is no budgetary
provision. Everyone knows that the ration shops are poorly managed and the
quality of food grains distributed are not upto the mark.Hence, before embarking
on this massive project, much ground work should be done to plug all the
deficiencies in the system to ensure proper procurement, storage, distribution,
quality and aboveall, the cooperation of the states to make it a success.

FORMATION OF TELENGANA.

The timing of the decision to form Telengana appears to be more
political as the elections are just 9 months away.Mr.Digvijaya Singh,
General secretary of Congress  rightly reminded  Mr.Rao of TRS
about his promise to merge with the Congress party once the
decision to form Telengana is announced.Ofcourse, the demand for
separate Telengana was there for many decades so also the demand
for separate states like Vidharbha,Gorkhaland etc.The decision to
form separate Telengana  has triggerred and activated the demand
for more smaller states.

What the government should have done is to appoint a States
Reorganisation Committee consisting of eminent people with
time bound term to consider requests of various states and then
present the committee's recommendations  to  Parliament for
discussion and take it further for action.

                                                  UPA CHAIRPERSON'S LETTER TO PM

UPA Chairperson & Cogress President Ms.Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to
Prime Minister to look into the matter of Ms.Durga Shakthi Nagpal IAS
Who was suspended by UP government. It is a good gesture. She should
have written  similar letters to the Haryana government when Mr.Ashok
Khemka was transferred  and also to the Rajasthan government when
Mr.Pankaj Chowdhury IPS  was transferred. All the three cases are
similar as they have taken the political heavyweights.

I wish Ms. Sonia Gandhi takes up all the three cases and allow the
bureaucrats to discharge their duties without fear  and instil
confidence in them.

                                            AMENDMENT TO HINDU MARRIAGE ACT.

The Union cabinet approved changes in the marriage law Amendment Bill,
based on recommendations of Group of Ministers(GOM).It seems the Cabinet
has also approved GOM proposal to provide sufficient compensation to woman
from her husband's ancestral property in case of a divorce in addition to the share
in the husband's self acquired property.Hence, a new clause 13(f) is included in
the proposed Bill.

If the amendments are carried out, it will have far reaching consequences in the
Hindu society. It is fair, for a woman to seek compensation from her husband's
self acquired property in case of divorce, provided she is in poor financial position
after divorce. In case, the woman already has a good employment with good salary
and also has a share in the property of her family (her parents),there is no reason
why the woman should be entitled to share of the ancestral property of her husband?
If any law has to be enacted,it should be fair to all sections of society irrespective of
caste & gender.

IS MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY?.

One of the Congress members of Parliament said that one can have a meal at
Rs.12/- Many people are angry with this statement as it is far away from reality.
To his defence, I say that a good vegetarian Thali is available for Rs.12.50 in the
Parliament canteen as it is subsidised out of tax payer's money.Following are the
price of various items available in the Parliament canteen:

                                                       1.Tea        : Re 1/-
                                                       2. Dosa     : Rs 4/-
                                                       3. Non.Veg Thali  : Rs.22/-
                                                       4. Veg.Pulao         :  Rs.8/-
                                                       5.  Fruit salad       : Rs. 7/-
The people of the particular M.P's constituency should understand how much
their representative is cut off from the reality.

EDITORIAL.

                                                            THE NEW QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT.

Just a day after the UPA government led by Dr.Manmohan Singh  government
announced measures to boost FDI investments into India, the global  steel giants
Arcelor Mittal and Posco announced their exit from India.

Arcelor Mittal led by an Indian Mr.L.N.Mittal announced that they will be pulling
out of India, investments to the tune of Rs.50,000 crores ($ 10 billions) .The Arcelor
Mittal planned to set up a steel project in Odisha. The reason given is delay in
acquiring land and iron ore linkages.

POSCO wanted to set up a steel mill project in Karnataka with an investment of
Rs.35,592 crores($5.3billions) but pulled out due to delays in iron ore mining rights
and land acquisition problems.

Hence, totally the country lost investments of more than Rs.80,000 crores
($16 billions)due to lack of clarity in the policy.Added to the worry is that the
FII's pulled out Rs.44,162 crores ($7.5 billions) from the Indian Capital
Markets in June.

Is BRICS (Brazil,Russia,India,China & S.Africa) losing shine and MINT (Mexico,
Indonesia,Nigeria & Turkey) emerging as new investment destinations?.

INDIAN RUPEE AT THE LOWEST EVER. RBI & THE GOVERNMENT CLUELESS.

Reserve bank Governor Mr.D.Subba Rao said,it is difficult to estimate when the situation will improve. Ofcourse, the weakening of rupee is also due to some global factors, but Indian factors outweigh more than global factors.

If we trace the value of rupee vis-a-vis US dollar, from 1947 till date, the rupee has steadily declined. The value of rupee(INR) vis-a-vis US dollar(USD) is as follows:
                                                               on 15th August 1947,1 USD = 1 INR.
                                                               In 1966                        1USD = 7 INR.
                                                               In 1970                        1 USD = 7.47 INR.
                                                               In 1975                        1 USD = 8.41 INR.
                                                               In 1985                        1 USD = 12.36 INR
                                                               In 1990                        1 USD = 17.50 INR.
                                                               In late 90's                  1 USD = 24.58 INR.
Now,1 USD is equivalent to Rs.60.00 and it crossed Rs.61 last week. Let us wait for
the day when 1 USD will be equivalent to 1 INR .Will the wait be an eternal wait ?.

POLITICAL OUTBURSTS IN THE HOUR OF CALAMITY.

Mr.Digvijay Singh,Congress General Secretary stated other day that Mr.Narendra
Modi said that he rescued 15,000 people when he visited Uttarakhand. To this comment,Mr.Rajnath Singh,President of BJP said that Mr.Narendra Modi never
claimed that he rescued  any one and he confirmed it from Mr.Modi. Now,the
readers want to know who is telling the truth and who is telling a lie?.

But the need of the hour is effective coordinated evacuation operation and best

OIL MINISTER'S CHARGE AGAINST IMPORT LOBBY.

Recently Mr.Veerappa Moily,Minister for Petroleum said that the oil import lobby
is threatening every Petroleum Minister  and he said that he cannot be threatened.
When the media asked former Minister Mr.Ram Naik, who was petroleum Minister
for 5 years in NDA government about this,he said,he was never threatened. We
wonder why the media did not follow up this story. If Mr.Moily's comments are
true ,the government must come out with clarification immediately. The rupee is
at all time low of Rs.60.70 .Will there be any link between the two as India is
the third biggest oil importer in the world.

We wish the media follow up the story and come out with the facts as the comments
are made by the senior cabinet minister of UPA.He is the man who call a  spade
a spade.

CAUSED DUE TO THE FLOODS IN KEDARNATH AND IN AND AROUND
BADRINATH.
 EDITORIAL.

WHAT A WEAK RUPEE MEANS FOR INDIAN CITIZENS.

The Rupee is weak and the Dollar is strong. If a tourist comes from America,he
carries his national currencyi.e Dollar. The US Dollar fetches him Rs.59.78,whereas
an Indian going to America carrying his national currency i.e Rupees has to pay Rs.59.78 toget  get one US Dollar. What does this mean?.  An American Tourist  can
spend freely in India and enjoy a beautiful holiday in any place he wants, but an Indian Tourist visiting America has to calculate every rupee before
spending. This is what the true economy is about. This is what our governments from 1947 has done for the Indian Citizens. The present quote of the rupee
vis-a-vis the US Dollar is  at the weakest level since independence.

I am waiting for a day when the US Dollar and the rupee quote the same,i.e one
Dollar for one rupee.. Is it a pipe dream? or asking for too much?
